Passenger Airbag Status Fault

The computer is getting incorrect signals from the passenger airbag indicator light, meaning it can't determine if the airbag will deploy properly in a crash.

The airbag system monitors the circuit from the passenger airbag status light. It looks for resistance values between 0.25 ohms and 2.5 ohms to confirm proper indicator operation. If it sees values outside this range, it triggers the B0104 code.

Don't just throw parts at it. Walk through these in order — each step tells you whether to keep going or stop and fix what you found.

1. 11. Start with a visual inspection of the wiring and connectors related to the passenger airbag system. Look for frays, corrosion, or loose connections. -> If found, repair or replace as needed.
2. 22. Check the voltage supply to the passenger airbag indicator circuit with the key on. Use a multimeter to confirm it reads close to 12 volts. -> If voltage is incorrect, trace the circuit for breaks or shorts.
3. 33. Measure the resistance of the passenger airbag status indicator. Disconnect the connector and use an ohmmeter. -> If resistance is outside of the 0.25 - 2.5 ohm range, replace the indicator light.
4. 44. If both the voltage and resistance are correct but the code persists, test or replace the airbag control module.
