Battery Voltage Low - A

The computer is detecting that the battery voltage on circuit A is lower than expected, which can lead to poor performance or starting issues.

The vehicle's computer sees a voltage drop typically below 10.5 volts when the engine is off and below 13.5 volts when it is running.

Don't just throw parts at it. Walk through these in order — each step tells you whether to keep going or stop and fix what you found.

1. 11. Check battery voltage with a multimeter. Expected: 12.4-12.8 volts off, 13.5-14.5 volts running. Decision: If below expected, go to step 2.
2. 22. Inspect battery terminals for corrosion and tightness. Decision: If corroded or loose, clean and secure them. Retest voltage. If issue persists, go to step 3.
3. 33. Check the alternator output using a multimeter. Expected: should output 13.5-14.5 volts while running. Decision: If out of range, consider replacing the alternator. If good, go to step 4.
4. 44. Inspect wiring and connectors between battery and control module for damage. Decision: If any are damaged, repair or replace as needed.
