ABS Control Module Motor Relay Circuit

The ABS control module isn't getting the right signal to power the motor that activates the ABS system, which can affect braking performance.

The ABS control module monitors the motor relay circuit for voltage and current. If it detects a voltage drop below 9 volts while the relay should be active, it triggers this code.

Don't just throw parts at it. Walk through these in order — each step tells you whether to keep going or stop and fix what you found.

1. 11. Inspect wiring and connectors to the ABS relay for damage or corrosion. Fix any issues found. DECISION: If damaged, repair the wiring or connectors; if not, move to step 2.
2. 22. Check the ABS relay operation. Swap with a known good relay to test. DECISION: If the code clears, replace the relay; if not, proceed to step 3.
3. 33. Measure voltage at the ABS control module connector while activating the relay. Expect 12V when operating. DECISION: If voltage is present, the ABS control module may be faulty; if absent, further check the control module's power supply.
4. 44. If the ABS control module has power but still sets the code, inspect the module itself for faults. Use a scan tool to read module data. DECISION: If data is abnormal or module unresponsive, replace the ABS control module.
